Le Marais is another must see in Paris and the best arrondissement that you cannot simply miss out on. It’s also one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris, France. Check all the affordable things to do in Le Marais, Paris.
Why not take the opportunity to indulge at Le Marais by having a nice and relaxing breakfast at some of the popular cafes.
Le Marais is one of the best places to visit in Paris, located in the 4th arrondissement known for its lively and vibrant district as well as a fashionable district of Paris, filled with gay bars, boutiques, art galleries, and many more.
Le Marais is also known as the Jewish quarter hosting various kosher restaurants.
It’s also home to Musee Victor Hugo where the writer lived, and the grassy Place des Vosges home to elegant arcades.

After exploring Le Marais and the Musee Picasso National, why not take a short break at the Place des the Vosges, originally known as the Place Royale, the oldest planned square in Paris, France renamed after the French Revolution in tribute to the North-east region of the Vosges, which is bordering Germany and Luxembourg.

Maison de Victor Hugo is another highlight located in the Le Marais at the Place des Vosges.

Maison de Victor Hugo is another popular writer’s house museum that is situated where Victor Hugo was living for 16 years between 1832 and 1848.
In October 1832, Victor Hugo (who was only 30 at the time) and his wife Adele moved into the museum. They were renting a 280 square meter apartment on the second floor.
This museum was substantially improved and is currently named Hotel de Rohan-Guemenee by the de Rohans family.
However, when a large donation was made, the mansion was soon after converted into a museum by Paul Meurice to the city of Paris to buy the house.
You can take a peek into the life of Victor Hugo’s past times, as you’ll discover that a variety of rooms have been converted and decorated during the times of the celebrated author.
A lot of people also found that the magnificent mansion is beautifully decorated with bright green, golden, and red along with some beautiful flowers make the whole place a completely spectacular mansion.

5. Montmartre Paris Attractions: Best Things To See In Paris
Oh, Montmartre!!! If you’re in Paris for 3 to 4 days, you must include Montmartre in your Paris 4 day itinerary.
Montmartre is probably my most favorite district in Paris, France. It is located in a large hilly part of Paris on the 18th arrondissement.
So, be prepared to walk up and down on some of the hilly parts of Montmartre, and some streets also consist of long staircases. It is 130 m high which gives its name to the surrounding district that is a part of the Right Bank within the northern section of Paris.
Montmartre is the heart of Paris’ authentic village with incomparable charms, character, quaint boutiques, romantic cafes, terraces, cobblestone streets, apartments, museums, artsy district, vineyards, windmills, Sacre-Coeur, and many more.

Montmartre is also known for its cobblestone streets, stunning Basilica, various artists, bistros and is full of numerous charms to be found in most corners.
If you head to the top of a small hill in the 18th arrondissement, you’ll discover the most famous Parisian atmosphere village, which appealed so much by many artists of the 19th and 20th centuries.
There, you’ll learn a variety of melting pot of art and inspiration that you’ll ever find from films that Montmartre to this day even still offers so much pleasure to both locals and tourists wandering around or staying in Paris.
Albeit, Montmartre had been given a bad reputation due to the number of street vendors who will forcefully harass you to buy their items and lack of security or guards roaming around protecting tourists.
Needless to say, I’ve never encountered such bad experiences whenever I visited Montmartre.
As anywhere in the world, just be extra vigilant of your surroundings as you’ll never know what comes the way that may give you a bad experience. So don’t let other people’s negative experiences of Montmartre turn you away from visiting this enchanting and charming village of Paris.

6. La Maison Rose Places To Visit In Paris
While you’re still in Montmartre why not head over to La Maison Rose French Restaurant to grab something to eat? It’s a small restaurant and you might need to call them first to make a reservation.
La Maison Rose is a French restaurant located at 2 Rue de l’Abreuvoir, 75018 Paris with a pink maisonette. That cute pink house is nestled on the corner of a winding cobblestoned street, and you’ll discover that it’s unbelievably one of the most photographed architectures in Montmartre.
Outside, you’ll find that it’s also a pretty picturesque street with some old stone architecture along with a gorgeous cobblestoned street. This street has become quite popular among tourists and locals.
La Maison Rose has been around for well over a hundred years old, however, no one knows (and probably including the current owners) who the original owners were and the exact date that was built.
Though, some people say that this cafe was once a boarding house (though, I’m not entirely sure if that’s true, as that’s what I had heard the third time I went to Paris) and that the cafe has been serving coffee since its inception where local writers could eat inexpensively. The prices for their meals and coffee may have already changed.
7. Rue Cortot Paris Attractions Places To Visit In Paris
Rue Cortot is just on the corner of La Maison Rose which is another charming little street that’s also known as one of the most photographed streets in Montmartre.
The street offers beautiful landscape and architecture of low-colored houses, plants, and flowers around the houses, and the unusual associations of gorgeous pastel colors, materials, and street shapes.
8. Villa Léandre Things To See In Paris Sightseeing
If you’re familiar with some of the cute little charming English streets in England, you’ll find that Villa Leandre is another popular charming attraction that is also a perfect spot for photos inspired by the English style.
Villa Leandre is just a very short walk from La Maison Rose and Rue Cortot, which is an iconic destination, as you wander along this street you’ll soon find yourself being transported into a secret little gem of Paris.
Villa Leandre was built on the site of a former mill in Montmartre in 1926. Apparently, the houses there are some of the most expensive to be found in Montmartre.
Each house has its own unique style and structure with wooden doors, cute little balconies, courtyard, and among them has its own different accent soft pastel colors.
Several of the houses also have pitched roofs, traditional style lanterns at the door, as well the street even ends with a vintage style lamp post.
9. Rue du Mont Cenis Stairs Things To See In Paris Sightseeing
If you’re hunting for some breathtaking views over the staircases where it overlooks the Parisian Haussmannian buildings, and Paris, head over to Rue du Mont Cenis Stairs for some photo sessions.
The street and the staircases are a series of breathtaking views that you won’t be able to resist.
This place will serve you an amazing spot while relaxing and taking photos on top of those staircases which will give you magnificent views of the architecture and its surroundings.
10. Rue Foyatier Things To Do In Paris France
If you can’t seem to get enough of the set of staircases with breathtaking views, the Rue Foyatier is another most visited street in Montmartre, Paris that consists of an unusual giant staircase.
Tourists also flock to this street to photograph its surroundings, staircase, and amazing views of Paris.
The Rue Foyatier is still on the Montmartre butte within the 18th arrondissement of Paris. This street was opened in 1867, and it was given its current name after the sculptor Denis Foyatier in 1875.
These giant flights of stairs allow everyone to access the top of the hill, the Sacre-Coeur Basilica, which is another popular attraction of the upper Montmartre neighborhood. So, if you’re heading there afterward, make sure to take a few deep breaths and relaxation.

Place du Tertre is one of the most famous squares in Montmartre that you also can’t miss out on visiting.

The Place du Tertre is a reminder for everyone when Montmartre was the Mecca of modern art. With its many amazing artists setting up their easels regardless of the weather each day for tourists.
In the early 20th century, many painters including Amedeo Modigliani, Maurice Utrillo, and Pablo Picasso were once living there and others were living nearby.
Place du Tertre square is also filled with street musicians, cafes, and restaurants that you can easily get distracted by overwhelming lively square.

12. Sacre Coeur Best Things To Do In Paris Attractions
After exploring the charming village of Montmartre you simply cannot miss out on visiting the most popular and iconic Basilique du Sacré-Cœur Catholic Church.
It’s situated at the top of the hilly part of Montmartre so it will take a few hills and staircases to get there.
I promise you won’t regret visiting this magnificent church, as outside the church you’ll be welcomed with breathtaking views of Paris.
Inside the church, you’ll also be welcomed with spectacular interior design that you will certainly be amazed by. Please be warned, the last time I went inside Sacre-Coeur Catholic Church, we weren’t allowed to take photos or videos.

If you’re still in Paris on Day 4, why not pay a visit to the Palace of Versailles to be transported back to the breathtaking royal chateau and discover the second most visited monument in the Ile de France region? Check these affordable tickets to Versailles.
The Palace of Versailles is situated about 20 kilometers southwest of the center of Paris. You can easily get there by metro or bus from the center of Paris early in the morning. Please take into consideration that it can take up to 1 hour to get to Versailles from Paris city center.
This palace was the principal royal residence of France from 1682 until the beginning of the French Revolution in 1789 under Louis XIV.

If you’re into some color street photography, why not discover one of the most colorful streets in Paris called Rue Cremieux before ending your day in Paris?
Rue Cremieux is one of the popular colorful streets that is located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, originally built as workers’ housing. This street is on an off-the-beaten-path, not far from the Gare de Lyon railway station.
A lot of tourists come to this colorful street due to its French quaint painted house fronts. It has certainly become a popular destination for tourists for their social media photos and even for filming.
Rue Cremieux consists of a gorgeous cobblestone street that is 144 meters long and 7.50 m wide and is only for pedestrians. It also consists of colorful private houses full of character and charm that you sure will not be able to resist taking lots of photos in front of those houses as your backdrop.
Once stepping on Rue Cremieux, you’ll feel and be given the impression that you’re outside of Paris, as most apartments in Paris center are not made of quaint colorful houses. Unless, of course, if you go over to the village or in the Provincial town of France.
The residents at Rue Cremieux are so proud of their gorgeous colorful street, however, I have read some articles online that some are quite annoyed with the influx of tourists taking over the streets while photographing. Which only causes an invasion of their privacy.
So if you head over there, just be mindful of the locals’ privacy, for example, don’t step right in front of their doorstep just for photos, and certainly try not taking photos where the residents will be visible on your photos.
5. Place de la Bastille Paris Sightseeing & Places To Visit In Paris
Place de la Bastille is only an 8-minute walk from Rue Cremieux, so if you have enough time why not take a stroll around the area before you end day 4 in your Paris itinerary?
The Bastille is another popular square in Paris that is known for France’s political history and where the Bastille prison stood during the French Revolution.
The July Column (Colonne de Juillet) stands at the center of the square and commemorates the events of the July Revolution in 1830.
To this day, Place de la Bastille has certainly transformed into a popular, thriving, and vibrant area where many locals and tourists alike hang out in the vicinity where you can find a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops. Please note that this square is also a busy square filled with lots of cars and traffic.
