What Are Lightroom Profiles? FAQ

What Are Lightroom Profiles?

Lightroom Profiles are the best features for photo editing from Adobe Lightroom.  You must have a Lightroom Subscription Plan in order to use Lightroom on a desktop.

Lightroom Profiles are a very advanced form of Filters.  Lightroom Profiles can give you the ability to control and apply creative different styles to your photos with additional adjustments or changes to the Lightroom Develop Module or slider settings (Basic, Tone Curve and etc.).

Lightroom Profiles work like Presets with an added bonus that you control the required intensity of your photos.  In other words, you can have full control over how much of the filter’s effect you would like to apply in your photo by using the Amount slider of the Profiles.

Unlike Lightroom Presets, you do not need to adjust all the settings or sliders in order to meet the desired look you want to accomplish in your photo.  Because once you’ve applied my Lightroom Profiles to your image, they don’t have any effect on the sliders or settings from the Develop module. This, in turn, allows you to apply any changes to the sliders from the very beginning of the Profile’s Amount slider.  It’s like having an extra layer to your added Profiles.

Why Do I Still Have To Edit After Applying Your Profiles To My Photos?

The good thing about Lightroom Profiles is that they are a lot easier to apply to your images with very minimal changes.  You control adjustments to additional sliders or settings to the Develop Module sliders. I find that Lightroom Profiles are just as powerful as Presets except that Profiles are a lot easier and faster to work with.

The additional sliders or settings that you might need to add on top of my Profile to your photos are usually determined by the natural lightings, exposure, saturation, time of the day your natural photo was taken, or the type of camera you used.

This is because every UNEDITED or RAW photo has different natural lighting, saturation, sharpness, colors and etc.

Most of my Lightroom Profiles don’t really require you to edit or add additional settings because I have designed them for variations of brightness, contrast, clarity, color tones, shades in order to fit with different unedited photos.

What Are Mobile Lightroom Profiles?

Mobile Lightroom Profiles are exactly the same Profiles that you use on your desktop. The good thing is that Lightroom Profiles can be Synced directly from Lightroom CC to your Mobile without the hassle of manually installing them to your mobile.

The best thing about using my Lightroom Profiles on mobile, though, is that it’s much easier to edit on mobile especially when you’re always on the go and are just used to editing your photos on mobile rather than from your laptop.  I used to edit my photos on Lightroom mobile, too, however since I have been editing for a very long time, I have found that it’s much faster to edit on Lightroom desktop. This is all up to you, as every person has their own preference.

Mobile vs Desktop Lightroom Profiles

Lightroom Profiles work exactly the same in both Mobile and Desktop.  The only main difference is that applying and editing Lightroom Profiles on a Lightroom Desktop is much more powerful as compare to Lightroom Mobile.

You do need to have a Lightroom Subscription Plan in order to use my Profiles in both desktop and mobile.

All of my Lightroom Profiles result on both devices (desktop and mobile) is exactly the same.

How Do Lightroom Mobile Profiles Work & How Do I Install My Profiles On Mobile?

As clearly mentioned above, you do not need a Lightroom Subscription Plan in order to use my Profiles in desktop and mobile.

You can easily sync my Lightroom Profiles from Lightroom CC to your mobile.  Just make sure that you’re using the current version.

What Types Of Images Do My Lightroom Profiles Work?

My Lightroom Profiles will work with all kinds of photos including Raw and JPEG.  They have been tested in multiple raw and unedited photos by us and by others who have purchased my Lightroom Profiles.

I Don’t Shoot RAW, Will My Profiles Still Work?

Yes, of course.  As mentioned above it can also work on JPEG images, as well as mobile photos.

However, shooting in RAW is highly recommended in order to give you access to all of the data and record all of the data from the sensor.  All the information won’t be compressed and lost when shooting with RAW. This, in turn, will provide you with the highest quality images that would be unrecoverable if you were to shoot with a JPEG format.  And in addition to this, RAW images result will come out extremely nice, smooth, and crisp even after editing.

While on the other hand, shooting in a format like JPEG, the photo information is compressed and lost.  For instance, if your photo comes out extremely underexposed or overexposed it would be difficult to retain the quality while trying to fix the exposure of a JPEG format image.

Most of my photos were shot in JPEG even the ones you see in my Lightroom Profiles and Presets.  It took me quite a while to fix some of the overexposed and underexposed images. If they were shot in RAW format, it wouldn’t have taken me that long.

I Am New To Lightroom, Can I Still Use Your Profiles and Lightroom?

Yes, of course! All of my Lightroom Profiles are designed for beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced users.  You won’t have a problem learning.

Yes, Lightroom is super intuitive and user-friendly.  The software is designed for all user levels.

Do You Use Your Own Lightroom Profiles On Your Instagram and Blog?

Yes, of course, I designed my own Profiles, and I use both of my Profiles and Presets to most of my photos on Instagram and website.

Which Browser To Use To Download My Profiles?

I recommend using Chrome.  It will download a zip file and then you just click on it to unzip in order to access all the files.  You can also try Safari if it doesn’t work for you.
